This eighteenth century Grade || listed cottage is very deceptive in its appearance from Church Plain, with its cement rendered and painted frontage which is typical of this area of Wells. The colour lends to its name, along with the Lilac tree in the delightful rear garden.
The property was completely renovated in 2007 to a very high specification including full gas central heating, a handmade kitchen with granite worktop and modern bathroom, and has been refurnished throughout.
Entering through the front door, one has a real sense of the age of the property with its original beamed ceiling and large open fireplace with wood burner. The lounge is comfortably furnished with sofas and easy chair, colour TV with freesat, DVD player, and CD player. Free Wifi.
The handcrafted kitchen is fully fitted with oven and hob, microwave and fridge. A separate utility room provides full laundry facilities and freezer.
The fully enclosed private garden enjoys the sun from early morning to late evening and has outdoor table & 6 chairs. There is plenty of room in which to enjoy the peace and solitude, as well as the sunshine.
There is access into another large garden which you may also use.
The bathroom comprises a large walk in shower, bath, toilet and washbasin. There is also a separate washroom with toilet and handbasin on the first floor.
There are two double bedrooms on the first floor, both with plenty of space. A narrow original staircase leads to a twin bedded room on the second floor.
Please note that the staircase to the twin bedded room is unsuitable for very young children and the elderly but teenagers will never want to come down from this hideaway with its own TV & DVD player.
Please bring your own sheets, duvet covers, pillow cases and towels.
