The lovely coastal village of Kelling is a new area for Blakeney Cottage Company and we are really delighted to have the opportunity of sharing Cranes Cottage with our guests. Just 4 miles from Blakeney this lovely unspoilt conservation village is surrounded by beautiful countryside with varied walks through woods, Kelling heath, the salt marshes and Kelling’s virtually deserted pebble beach just minutes away.
Situated in the heart of Kelling is Cranes Cottage, traditionally built of brick and flint and offering spacious family accommodation. It is beautifully presented with comfortable furnishings and this cosy cottage also benefits from full oil central heating.
The glazed front door opens into the entrance hall off which is a generous utility room with butlers sink, washerdrier and second fridge with small freezer above. There is also a separate cloakroom with WC.
Cranes large kitchendining room is simply delightful! A huge inglenook fireplace with wood burner dominates the dining end whilst the kitchen is very well equipped with halogen hob, 2 ovens, dishwasher etc all within hand painted units with pine work surfaces. The flooring throughout the hall and kitchen area is traditional terracotta tiling – and the owners have sourced lovely pieces of antique pine in both this room and the next door sitting room.
This is another really good sized room again with an original inglenook fireplace with open fire. Sofas and armchairs in warm coloured fabrics compliment the wooden floor and for cosy evenings around the fire there is Satellite TV with DVD and video. Behind a latched cottage door stairs lead up to the light generous landing off which are small twin and bunk rooms and good sized master bedroom with pine bedstead and furnishings and the bathroom with a white suite with electric shower over the bath.
Glazed doors in the dining area lead to an attractive rear cottage garden with lawned area, small patio with green table and chairs. There is parking space at the front of the cottage for 2 small cars.
We can highly recommend this lovely cottage – for guests wishing to get away from the seasonal bustle of the larger villages Cranes Cottage and Kelling have so much to offer…blissful peace!
