Set just a short walk from the Stiffkey marshes and village amenities with frontal views over the Stiffkey Valley, this charming period cottage will give you a true feeling of a cosy Norfolk Cottage!
The Old Beams is believed to originally be a fisherman’s cottage dating back to the middle of the 18th century with internal features including exposed oak timbers, pamment tile floors, and cedar wood floorboards. It underwent complete refurbishment in 2007 – 2008 and has been decorated and furnished to a high standard throughout with everything that you require for an extremely comfortable ‘home from home’ stay.
ACCOMODATION
THE LIVING ROOM 14’10” x 9’
This room’s focal feature is a wood burning stove on a raised hearth ideal for those cosy nights in around the fire. The exposed oak ceiling timbers, pamment tile floor and country styled furnishings all add to the charm. A TV, DVD player and a selection of games for your entertainment are provided.
THE DINING ROOM 14’10” x 6’10”
The hand-painted Victorian table 2m x 0.75m was especially sought out for this room as it provides a great space for children to play on as well as providing a feeling of elegant dining with the candelabra that hangs above from the ceiling timbers. Perfect for around the table banter!
KITCHEN 16’9” x 5’6” widening to 10’3”
The hand-made, hand-painted country styled kitchen with black granite worksurface, Belfast sink and antique styled taps, comes fully equipped a double oven cooker with 4 hobs, washing machine, fridge freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster and all the culinary equipment that you would require to express your culinary talents. Again there is a pamment floor and other characterful features.
DOWNSTAIRS BATHROOM
Panelled bath with shower over, wash basin, WC, tiled wall surrounds, beech floorboards.
DOUBLE BEDROOM 15’ x 8’9”
The cream Victorian styled metal double bed and dressing table sets the country feel of this room. Other features include fitted pine wardrobes, cedar wood floorboards, sloping ceilings with exposed roof timbers and a dormer window with fine views over the Stiffkey Valley.
BUNKBED ROOM
Another bright and characterful room with wide cedar wood floorboards, sloping ceilings, exposed ceiling timbers and fitted pine wardrobes.
OUTSIDE
At the front there is a south facing walled garden with well stocked beds and a graveled area with a hardwood table and chairs with a parasol to protect you from the all day sun. To the rear of the property is another graveled area for parking with backdoor access, making it ideal for unloading. There is plenty of space here to dry things and leave outside equipment.
