The Norfolk village of Binham is a wonderful place for a holiday. It is a lovely unspoilt village next to the ruins of the 12th Century Binham Priory. The village is well-supplied with a local Grocery Store, a Butcher and Grazier, a Petrol pump, and the friendly and welcoming Chequers Inn which has good food and also brews its own beer. All these are close to the Village Green where a medieval Wayside Cross marks the site of the village fair held there from the reign of Henry I onwards and revived in 2007 with great success.
The North Norfolk Coast is easily reached, with the sandy beaches and dunes at Wells-next-the-Sea only 5 miles away. Just along the coast the pine woods, enormous beach and palladian mansion of Holkham Hall can be found. The georgian town of Holt, with its excellent shopping, cafés and restaurants is 7 miles away, it`s a mere 9 miles to the pretty shops in Burnham Market, and the market town of Fakenham with its busy Thursday Market and monthly Farmers Market is ten miles away. Blakeney Harbour, the Nature Reserve at Blakeney Point and the Norfolk Wildlife Trust reserve at Cley-next-the-Sea are all close. For walkers and cyclists the Norfolk Coast Path and North Norfolk Cycle Way run along the nearby coast, with a good service of coastal buses to bring you back to your car, if necessary.
