Mulberry Cottage is a semi-detached timber barn style property with lots of character which is available to rent as a holiday cottage. it is the closest house to the marsh in Stiffkey; it is only 100 yards from the woods that separate the land from the marsh. This building underwent a radical transformation during 2004-2006 to be as you see it today. There is a footpath at the bottom of the garden - Hollow Lane - accessed by a gate which leads to the marsh on one hand and 10mins walk to the pretty flint village of Stiffkey on the other.
The cottage offers comfortable accommodation on two levels. Strip pine flooring with rugs. There are far reaching views across open fields on all three sides.
On the ground floor is a large family kitchen with dining table. The kitchen is fully equipped with microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and fridge-freezer. A door leads out onto the patio which has wooden patio furniture, and a good sized back garden laid to lawn surrounded with a stock proof fence. Living room with 28 TV, DVD VCR with french doors opening onto the verandah. Two good sized double bedrooms one with double-bed the other with two singles. A bathroom with a walk in shower, wash hand basin toilet and a full-size bath.
On the first floor is a master bedroom with double bed and views towards the coast and Blakeney. The fourth bedroom has bunkbeds. There is a shower room - 4' long shower tray - with wash hand basin and toilet.
A west facing verandah runs along the front of the cottage, perfect for afternoon tea or evening drinks whilst watching the sun go down. There is an open front garden, on one side there is a set-aside field and the other adjoins the turning circle. There is parking for several cars.
Mulberry Cottage is perfectly located for those wishing to explore this area of outstanding natural beauty. It is close to the marsh which amonst other things is a designated site of special scientific interest. It is in a rural location with the only traffic being that of the three other properties in the immediate vicinity and accessed by a private road. The area is renound as an ornithological magnate particulary during migration. There is a little tern breeding colony on the Marsh - April to July -. This is also one of the few places in the Country that you find common and grey seals together. These can be veiwed by a boat trip from one of the boatman working out of Morston and Blakeney. Stiffkey has a freehouse pub and Post Office general stores.
Weekend lets are available in off peek periods. Rates vary depending on number of people. Prices start from as low as £150.00 for a couple. Weekend is defined as arriving after 16.00hrs on Friday and leaving prior to 10.00hrs on Monday.
Full oil fired central heating. No smoking policy. Dogs with well-behaved owners are welcome with a maximum of two dogs unless by prior arrangement.
Duvets, pillows and blankets are provided but not sheets, duvet covers or pillow cases.
