About the cottage...
Originally two small cottages, they are now connected downstairs by an opening between the sitting and dining rooms.
The bedrooms are accessed by separate staircases at either end of the cottage, as per the original layout. All the rooms have lovely views, fresh simple decor, and cheerful furnishings appropriate to a period country cottage. The owners have chosen a selection of prints and paintings by local artists and friends for their guests to enjoy.
The accommodation comprises kitchen with hand built painted units housing fan-assisted electric oven, solid plate hob, and dishwasher. There is a free standing fridge-freezer, microwave, electric kettle and toaster, a built-in larder cupboard, and a door to the patio garden
Adjoining the kitchen is a dining room with table and chairs, pine bench, butchers block with wine storage, and a fireplace with small woodburner.
The connecting sitting room is furnished with a two seater sofa and two armchairs around a woodburning stove. There is a flat screen TV, DVD player, radio/CD player for cosy evenings in, and a great selection of books in a shelved recess next to the fireplace. There is a telephone for incoming calls, and a toy cupboard with lego, dolls, and board games.
A small utility room, with painted cupboards concealing washing machine and tumble dryer , and a desk and chair, forms a separate study area next to the sitting room.
Off the lobby, which has hanging pegs for coats etc., is a shower room with WC and washbasin.
From the dining room a latched door opens onto a typical ‘Norfolk winder’ staircase, leading to a pretty double bedroom with views over open countryside, and a spacious bathroom with white bath , wc and washbasin. A second staircase leads from the sitting room to an attractive twin bedroom overlooking fields, and a single bedroom which looks down a lane towards the ford. Due to the quirky nature of the cottage layout it is ideally suited to four guests, who are welcome to use all bedrooms.
The cottage has full oil central heating and logs are provided for the woodburning stoves.
A travel cot and high chair are available.
The owners of the cottage are happy for guests to bring one well behaved dog to take advantage of the lovely walking country surrounding the cottage.
