ABOUT THE AREA
Great Walsingham, with the famous Shrine of Our Lady is only 2½ miles away. Holt, a Georgian town, full of interesting shops is 7 miles to the East, and Fakenham, with its thriving Thursday market is within 4 miles. Only eight miles to the North of Great Snoring, is the town voted one of the top two small seaside towns in England, Wells-next-the-Sea. The North Norfolk coast is very varied, it has salt marshes, ideal for bird watching, and excellent sandy beaches.
The local area also boasts many National Trust properties, Houghton Hall, Blickling, and Felbrigg being just a few of them. Holkham Hall is also open to the public in the summer months, and is within easy reach of the Cottage.
Only three miles away is The Thursford Collection, a nationally renowned Steam Engine Museum, famous for its Christmas Spectacular Shows.
North Norfolk has lots of local pubs and fine restaurants, including The Hoste Arms at Burnham Market, and Morston Hall.
